I have over 35 years of experience in picture framing. In that time, I have framed everything from a simple poster to large canvas paintings, shadow boxed toys inside an antique television, and conservation framed historic signed documents of such notable people as President George Washington and Neil Armstrong.
My interest in framing arose from my desire to be an artist. I discovered that art took on a whole new value and beauty when it was framed. While in college studying color and design concepts, I became intuitively good at selecting colors and layout of visually pleasing designs. My passion for framing started when I discovered that I had the ability to create things that brought meaning and purpose to memorable objects and photographs in a framed display.
As time went on, I began to further develop my skills in framing through attending classes and conferences and becoming familiar with the many different techniques and materials available for framing. About twenty years ago, I combined my framing work with the recognition and awards industry, and created framed pieces to include shadow box framing, framing of certificates, photographs, special commissioned art, event posters, and personal and company memorabilia. I have also created many framed items with sports jerseys, memorabilia, autographed photographs and items for charity events. I have created thousands of framed projects.
Some of the companies I have done work for are Wendy's Corporate Headquarters, Nationwide Insurance, Children's Hospital, Liebert Corporation, Worthington Steel, The Ohio State University, Commerce National Bank, Huntington National Bank, National Education Association in Washington, Ohio Education Association, and dozens more. I had the honor and privilege to accept a commission at the Double Eagle Golf Club near Galena, Ohio to create an homage to the late John H. McConnell in what is now a private lodge and conference center. In 2021 I created shadow box displays for the renovation of the 1869 Delaware County Court House.
Life would not be complete without being actively involved in my community. I contribute my talent and skills in preserving and presenting historical documents and objects for the Delaware County Historical Society, and served on the Board of Trustees and presently head a team of curators in one of the museums. I also share an interest in maintaining a vibrant downtown by supporting Main Street Delaware and contributing some of my art to its annual fundraising event. I am a strong supporter of the arts in Delaware and Central Ohio.
